Sainabou Faal, the Director of Real Estate UK, explains why Express Vending was the perfect partner for their new in-house refreshment solution.
Speaking about how the relationship began with Express Vending, Sainabou explained how they needed a refreshment solution available 24/7 to suit the varied shift patterns of their employees. They needed more than traditional catering and vending to ensure there was something accessible in and out of core hours.
The Express HUB ticked all the boxes; a 24/7 self-serve catering solution, where employees could access a wide range of fresh foods, healthy snacks, smoothies and soft drinks any time, day or night.
“Prior to our refurb, the refreshment provisions we had in place consisted of traditional vending machines and an on-site canteen. The canteen was only open during regular core hours - 8am until 4pm. COVID accelerated everything. We had always wanted to do something like this, but never had the opportunity. The pandemic meant we had to shut our onsite canteen permanently, as the number of employees working from our offices greatly reduced. The time for exploring and alternative solution for employees was perfect!”
Pre-packaged food and drink on site give’s employee’s flexibility to enjoy meals and snacks without the need to go off-site.
All safety measures were taken before, during & after installation. Social distancing was in place via markers and sanitization stations were readily available.
Distance Selection, touch-free coffee machines along with contactless payments were chosen to minimalize unnecessary touchpoints.
The Express HUB is a self-serve solution which is accessible to all employees 24/7. With over 150 product lines, sweet and savoury, to satisfy any craving.
“The experience has been really positive. The employees at Express have been very engaging and the partnership has got off to a very positive start! For us, it is really important to build a strong partnership with our vendors and Dan (our Account Manager) has highlighted that partnering with Express will be very fruitful for us.”
Sainabou explained that due to the nature of her role, she works with a lot of vendors, so when it came to finding a new solution, she knew what she was looking for.
Express Vending approached the financial services company with the Express HUB concept and plans to fulfil their desire for a manned juice bar. Micro markets have been voted as one of the top 10 food disruptors in 2021 by TAF Catering, therefore providing a future-proof catering solution, which complimented a forward-thinking, innovative company like Fiserv.
The installation took 4 days to complete. Over this period, Express installed 8 Starbucks stations, 6 Express HUB’s and an Express Juice bar.
During the installation of all equipment, Covid-19 guidelines were followed.
To ensure the safety of all employees, the Express team wore face coverings, gloves and adhered to social distancing. Throughout the Fiserv building, social distancing markers were placed on the floor, paired with accessible hand sanitiser stations.
Express also sent out relevant COVID-19 marketing collateral and pre-delivery inspection installation information before the team visited the sites.
In partnership with Fiserv, Express created the very first Express fresh juice and smoothies bar, with a full-time static operator making 9 signature drinks on-demand and a selection of hot paninis.
