Food Hygiene Legislation

Vending machines and other stand-alone facilities are subject to food hygiene legislation in the same way as any other food preparation facility would be. Vending machines specifically are governed by Chapter III, Annex II of Regulation (EC) 852/2004, which is also sometimes known as the Guide to Good Practice in the Vending Industry, and these guidelines form the basis of the cleaning and hygiene services we provide.

The guide includes regulatory advice on a range of hazards related to vending, including water supply, waste storage and disposal, temperature control, stock rotation, the provision of cleaning products and equipment and contamination. Although by definition the proprietor of the company or building is responsible for meeting these legal requirements, our dedication to customer care and satisfaction means we offer a range of services which reflect these obligations.

As part of our service we perform regular tests on various aspects of your machines, including conducting laboratory testing of water samples, ensuring it is free from bacteria such as E-Coli. In addition, we even offer fortnightly or monthly valeting services for machines which don’t require full management and this service includes a completely thorough 45-60 minute clean.

Our staff are manufacturer trained and follow all hygiene guidelines, particularly COSHH (the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) which manages the risks presented by hazardous substances, such as chemical-containing cleaning products.
